Paddle down the Santa Cruz River and enjoy an authentic Patagonian lunch during a unique adventure and nature experience.
Want to do something different in El Calafate?
Get off the beaten path and come paddle down one of Patagonia’s most important rivers.
Kayaking + Route 40 + steppe + a meal cooked over an open fire.
It’s hard to beat this plan. 😉
We’ll pick you up at your lodging starting at 10:00 a.m. and head out of El Calafate toward the historic Santa Cruz River.
The journey itself is part of the adventure: we’ll leave the city behind and immerse ourselves in the wide-open landscapes of the Patagonian steppe.
When we arrive at the river, our expert guides will be waiting for us with all the gear.
🛶 Kayak ready.
🦺 Safety gear ready.
📋 Safety briefing.
And now…
Into the water!
We climb into two-person kayaks and begin a descent lasting approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.
The Santa Cruz River becomes our path.
Blue water, endless steppe, Patagonian wind, and that silence that only comes when you’re far from the city.
You don’t need to be an expert kayaker: our guides will be with you throughout the entire activity.
And between strokes, look around.
Because there are landscapes you simply can’t see from the road.
We finish the trip, and a scent appears that’s pretty hard to ignore.
There’s a fire.
And there’s food.
An authentic, freshly prepared Patagonian lunch awaits us, accompanied by a glass of wine. 🍷
🧀 Provoleta
🥩 Creole-style
steak 🍫 Chocolate
mousse 🍷 Glass of wine
Because after paddling for almost two hours, we’ve earned that lunch. 😎
Kayaking, nature, adventure, and fine dining.
An experience for those who want to step off the beaten path for a while and experience Patagonia in a more active and authentic way.
After lunch, we head back to El Calafate.
