Enjoy a unique experience sailing just a few meters from the Perito Moreno Glacier.
Want to see the Perito Moreno Glacier from a different angle?
Then hop on the Nautical Safari.
For about an hour, you’ll cruise across the waters of Lake Rico, getting up close to the glacier’s imposing south face. It’s a completely different perspective than the one from the walkways.
The adventure begins at Puerto Bajo de las Sombras, on Provincial Route No. 11, km 70, about 7 km from the Perito Moreno Glacier.
📍 Transportation to the port is on your own.
Once there, we board the boat and the tour begins.
And right from the start, the star of the show appears: the Perito Moreno Glacier.
Enormous walls of ice, turquoise water, and icebergs floating across the lake after breaking off from the glacier.
Yes, you’re pretty close. 😮
As we sail, we travel along the south face of the glacier, getting closer and closer.
Until we reach a point about 400 meters from the ice wall.
The boat stops for a few minutes so you can enjoy the scenery, take photos, and, above all, get a sense of the scale of what’s before you.
And if nature decides to put on a show…
👀 you might even witness an ice calving event.
No two cruises are alike.
Because between the icebergs, the color of the water, and the glacier walls, the photos practically take themselves.
But we recommend doing something else:
Put your phone away for a few minutes.
Look at the glacier.
Listen to the ice.
And enjoy the moment.
The Nautical Safari is suitable for all ages and runs year-round.
It’s an excellent option to combine with a visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier walkways and experience it from two completely different perspectives.
