Discover the Perito Moreno Glacier with a bilingual guide.
There are places you visit, and others you experience.
Perito Moreno is one of those.
We invite you to spend a day enjoying the glacier at your own pace, with comfortable transportation, a bilingual guide, great music, and a real desire to show you one of Patagonia’s most incredible sights.
We’ll pick you up at your lodging starting at 9:00 a.m. and head out toward Los Glaciares National Park.
The drive itself is part of the experience.
We’ll travel along Provincial Route 11, skirting the impressive Lake Argentino for about 80 km.
And keep your eyes peeled 👀.
Along the way, we might encounter some of Patagonia’s inhabitants: guanacos, foxes, condors, and other native animals.
If wildlife crosses our path, we’ll pull over to watch them and take some photos.
Once inside Los Glaciares National Park, we’ll stop at the famous Curva de los Suspiros.
It’s about 7 km from the glacier and has a pretty clear purpose:
to prepare you for what’s to come.
Because from here, the Perito Moreno Glacier comes into view for the first time.
And yeah… the name of the stop makes perfect sense. 😉
We continue to the parking lot and start the walk toward the viewing platforms.
The plan is to walk the Sendero de la Costa trail, moving from the lower sections up to the higher ones as the glacier looms larger and larger before us.
Until we reach the main viewing platform.
And that’s where your moment begins.
The boardwalk system is approximately 7 km long, with different trails, lookouts, and observation points.
You can walk, take photos, sit facing the glacier, find your favorite viewpoint, or simply stay a while and take it all in.
And yes, it’s also a great time to break out your lunch and enjoy it against such a stunning backdrop.
Because it’s not every day you get to have lunch in front of a glacier. 🥪🧊
If you’d like to add an extra dose of adventure, you can also take the Boat Safari.
It’s an approximately 1-hour boat ride along the south face of the Perito Moreno Glacier, bringing us as close as about 300 meters to its ice wall, depending on navigation conditions.
After walking along the boardwalks and enjoying the glacier, we’ll meet up to head back to El Calafate.
A trip filled with scenery, wildlife, hiking, good music, and, of course, one of the most incredible glaciers on the planet as the star of the show.
